Braxton Berrios, a wide receiver at the University of Miami and a WCBA alum, earned an academic honor from the Atlantic Coast Conference last week.
Berrios was named the winner of the Jim Tatum Award, recognizing the ACC's top student-athlete.
As the leading receiver for the Hurricanes, Berrios will graduate in December with majors in finance and entrepreneurship with a 3.96 GPA.
"Braxton is the epitome of the student-athlete at the University of Miami," coach Mark Richt said in a statement. "His dedication, effort and leadership both on the field and in the classroom serves as an inspiration to our players, coaches and staff. I couldn't be prouder of Braxton for earning the Jim Tatum Award, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him."
Berrios played high school sports at Leesville Road High School in Raleigh.
