    2023 Summer Rec League - Registration Opens June 1st!

    WCBA's 2023 Summer Rec League registration opens June 1st. The season is scheduled to start July 10th and end August 30th. 

    Because of limited gym space there is a limit of players per age group. Please do not delay in enrolling as we expect to sell out! We maxed out and had to turn down players for Winter and Spring 1 leagues!!

    We will need Volunteer Coaches so please indicate on the registration that you would like to Coach.

    The information below is subject to change depending on registration numbers. 

    • 4-6 Practices and 10-12 games depending on age group
    • 1-2nd grade Sunday afternoons
    • 3-4th on Mondays and Saturdays
    • 5-6th to play Tuesdays and Saturdays
    • 7-8th to play Wednesdays and Saturdays
    • High School to play Thursday and Sunday nights

     

    Registration Deadline is July 1st or whenever we sell out, whichever comes first. Space is limited to 64 players per age group!!! We will sell out!

    Player evaluations and Coach's draft will be held at a date and time to be determined. Location is The Dream Center at 5616 Fox Rd. 

    Cost is $250 for grades 3 through 12. 1st-2nd grade league cost is $150.

    30 minutes of Ball handling, 30 min of shooting drills and 30 minutes of scrimmaging. 

    2023 Upcoming League Information

    The WCBA runs 5 seasons/leagues throughout the year.  Below are the tentative dates for each season.  The dates listed could be adjusted slightly each season but no more than by a week. 

    Registration for each season will begin about 45 days prior to the beginning date.  Each season includes 10-12 games and 4-5 practices, depending on the age group.

    The Wake County Basketball Association travel program develops players to their fullest potential through: intensive skill training and conditioning; utilization of a team-oriented system of fundamental offensive and defensive skill sets; developmentally appropriate competition and exposure; coaching that demands mental and physical toughness; uncompromising sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents and officials; and the teaching of respect and appreciation for the game of basketball.​

    WCBA seeks to provide opportunities to those athletes who wish to focus on fundamentals, skill development, and teamwork, in a more intense, more competitive training environment. WCBA strives to be recognized as one of the premiere travel basketball clubs in the United States and functions as an independent, outspoken leader in youth sports. WCBA will focus on the quality of its teaching and model a balanced, healthy approach to youth basketball -- supporting student-athletes with their goals as they relate to academics, fitness, nutrition, and skill development.  Our program continuously nurtures the WCBA recreational program to generate more high level skill development and more widespread interest among member families.  As part of WCBA, the travel program will establish a home facility that can provide an ideal environment to foster team-building, self-discipline, commitment, loyalty, and sportsmanship.
