WCBA's AAU or Grassroots basketball program provides opportunities for basketball players from grades 2-12 to play competitive basketball at a high level. Our AAU seasons run from spring through summer. Tryouts for the younger groups will generally be held in the winter, while tryouts for high school teams will be at the end of the high school basketball season.
The high school AAU teams will play a competitive schedule against some of the top teams in the region. During April and July, high school teams will compete in NCAA live events, which gives the players an opportunity to play in front of college coaches.
WCBA's high school teams are powered by Big Shots, one of the premier exposure circuits for basketball.
If you're considering playing AAU basketball for the first time, you should be aware of the following:
A larger financial commitment due to travel, lodging, registration fee, etc. The registration fee will vary by age group and will be dependent on number of tournaments played, number of players and teams, etc.
A larger time commitment. Expect two nights a week for practice and tournaments 2-3 weekends per month. Some tournaments start on Friday nights.
All players and parents expected to keep us updated on missing practice and games. Every effort should be made to attend all practices and games.
